Packrafting among the islands in Vättern

Paddling, hiking and enjoying – the best adventure of the summer!

Explore the most secret archipelago in Sweden with a packraft. A packraft can be described as an inflatable mini-kayak. They are very stable and easy to paddle and you use a double paddle, just as for the kayaks. Thanks to the flat bottom you can paddle in very shallow water and easily get to the shore of an island or a cliff.

The total weight of a packraft, paddle and life west is around 4 kg but it can carry approximately 130 kg. That means that you easily can bring all the gear need for a night in the archipelago. You attach the backpack on the front of the raft and the extra weight makes it even more stable to paddle.

Hiking on the island Stora Aspön

In the archipelago of Vättern there are plenty of beautiful islands to explore. The largest one is Stora (=large) Aspön where you find 25 km of marked hiking routes. Pack the packraft together and go explore the inner of the island! Climb the highest part that offers a beautiful view of the area, or go visit the small lake, Aspetärnen.

Choose between crossing the island to visit places where no-one else has been, or walk along the windswept coastline. Listen to the sound of the birds, search the sky for birds of prey and admire the the 400 years old trees. The nature is unique and so is the experience.
